There is another blog somewhere out there with my name on it. “Honestly Now.” I wrote irregularly for three years while my husband was struggling with kidney failure, managing peritoneal dialysis, requiring frequent hospitalizations, and finally succumbing to a heart attack and dying on June 29, 2017. I wrote to let family and friends, colleagues and former parishioners know how we were doing. Or, mostly, I wanted to share with everyone that I was “Fine, just fine.”

Then, Larry died. Suddenly I wasn’t fine. My life journeyed from the loneliness of living alone for the first time through efforts to return to ministry part-time. In January 2019, my life turned the corner into a world of adventurous companionship and travel. I ceased writing a blog and focused on writing a memoir–now published.
With “Stories Never Told: A Country Girl, A City Boy, and Death in Vietnam” now available (https://shop.ingramspark.com/b/084?rNnP7oZ8Jhpeubx6h5ohXB25jNHSt2ASUhYZCVK2OmF), I still have more to say, reflect on, and share. Like all of life, what comes next will be a surprise,–irregular, spontaneous, unpredictable, and truthful, always truthful.
I hope you will read it and be willing to respond. I welcome dialogue. Your opinions and comments are welcome.
